Exalted Orbs add a new random modifier to a rare item — the everyday crafting action behind most gear progression, so players reach for them constantly. In Path of Exile 2 the Exalted Orb is also the practical unit of account: most prices are quoted in Exalted, so it behaves like the market's base currency.
